Arundel County police have arrested three men they believe are responsible for 259 break-ins of self-storage units in Anne Arundel and Howard counties.
Investigators now are sorting through items seized in searches of two homes as well as a self-storage unit that they said one of the suspects rented, in an effort to match their haul with storage unit renters who reported thefts.
“It does appear that some of the items have been pawned,” police spokesman Justin Mulcahy said.
Police have recovered clothing and collectibles, pots and pans, and other items since receiving a tip in late January from an informant, they said.

I have always felt the Storage industry has stood well against the problem of the global economy. However i came across a post on FT, which is worrying…. the report highlights a loss of profit for one of Britian’s biggest Storage providers Safestore. the FT suggests this loss in profit of £9.4m ($15m), is down to the Falling property values house owners face today.
However the report did mention that this was only at the beginning of the year and things did improve towards the end.
“Last year was one of the worst years in memory and we put in a resilient performance,” said Steve Williams, chief executive. “Property valuations in the second half pretty much recovered, so we would be confident that you are not going to see too much difference next year.”
